    The Sentinel Hub is operated by Paul Brook, trading as Sentinel Barristers. References in this policy to "we", "us" or "our" are references to Paul Brook trading as Sentinel Barristers.
    Paul Brook is the data controller in respect of personal data collected through this website. As data controller, we are responsible for deciding how and why your personal data is used and for ensuring that it is processed lawfully and in accordance with this policy.

    3.1 Subscribers and members
    When you subscribe to The Sentinel Hub — whether as a free subscriber or a paying member — we collect the following personal data:
    • Your name
    • Your email address
    • If you become a paying subscriber: payment information processed by Stripe (see section 6 below)

3.2 Visitors to the site
When you visit The Sentinel Hub, our hosting platform Ghost may collect standard technical data including your IP address, browser type, and pages visited. This data is collected for the purpose of maintaining the security and performance of the site. It is not used to identify you personally.

3.3 Enquiries
If you contact us through the contact page or by email, we will collect your name, email address, telephone number if provided, and the content of your message.

    We use your personal data for the following purposes:
    • To provide you with access to the Hub's content as a subscriber or member
    • To send you content updates, newsletters, and other communications you have subscribed to receive
    • To process and manage your subscription or membership, including payment processing where applicable
    • To respond to enquiries you send to us
    • To maintain the security and integrity of the site
  2. Legal basis for processing
    We process your personal data on the following legal bases under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR):
    • Consent. Where you subscribe to receive content from the Hub, we process your data on the basis of your consent. You may withdraw your consent at any time by unsubscribing.
    • Contract. Where you take out a paid membership, we process your data as necessary to perform the contract between us.
    • Legitimate interests. We may process certain technical data on the basis of our legitimate interests in maintaining the security and performance of the site, provided those interests are not overridden by your rights.
  3. Third party processors
    We use the following third party services to operate The Sentinel Hub. Each acts as a data processor on our behalf and processes your data only in accordance with our instructions and their own privacy policies.
    6.1 Ghost
    The Sentinel Hub is built on and hosted by Ghost, operated by Ghost Foundation. Ghost processes subscriber and member data on our behalf as the platform through which the site is run and through which subscription and membership records are held. Ghost's privacy policy is available at ghost.org/privacy.
    6.2 Stripe
    Payment processing for paid memberships is handled by Stripe, Inc. When you take out a paid subscription, your payment details are collected and processed directly by Stripe. We do not store your payment card details. Stripe's privacy policy is available at stripe.com/gb/privacy.
  4. How long we keep your data
    We retain your personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes for which it was collected:
    • Subscriber and member data is retained for as long as your subscription or membership remains active. If you unsubscribe or your membership lapses, your data will be deleted within a reasonable period thereafter unless we are required by law to retain it for longer.
    • Enquiry data is retained for as long as necessary to respond to and follow up on your enquiry, and thereafter for such period as may be required for legal or professional purposes.
  5. Your rights
    Under the UK GDPR you have the following rights in relation to your personal data:
    • Right of access. You have the right to request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
    • Right to rectification. You have the right to ask us to correct any inaccurate or incomplete personal data we hold about you.
    • Right to erasure. You have the right to ask us to delete your personal data in certain circumstances.
    • Right to restrict processing. You have the right to ask us to restrict the processing of your personal data in certain circumstances.
    • Right to data portability. Where processing is based on your consent or on a contract, you have the right to receive your personal data in a structured, commonly used, and machine-readable format.
    • Right to withdraw consent. Where processing is based on your consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time by unsubscribing or by contacting us at admin@sentinelbarristers.com.
